The Best Things in Life

We had an AMAZING Christmas. It seems to get better and better every year. We did stories with the boys, Norad Santa, baking, laughing, loving, enjoying, playing games... all the things that makes Christmas Eve special. Ethan every year cries before bed on Christmas Eve. He says his tummy hurts and his heart hurts every Christmas Eve thinking about Santa. His emotions are so overwhelming he doesn't know how to handle it. When we put out all the Santa gifts, while cuddling next to John, Binx on the recliner, I looked around at the tree, the presents the brownies and said, "We are so lucky". This overwhelming feeling of gratitude filled me. Looking at a mountain of presents and all I could think is that the best things in life... aren't things.

Brownies for the baby!

Even though I finished this forever ago I only just took pics of the headboard we made. I am beside myself excited about Christmas! The kids are really going to enjoy it, they are getting everything they put on their toys r us wishlist... and I think I am getting everything on my wish list too... he hee. My sister is spending the weekend with us, and I am pretty sure she makes the absolute best brownies EVER, and since I have only gained 15lbs so far I think I'll use pregnancy as my excuse of why I should have double... okay, make that TRIPLE the amount everyone else gets. I am finally taking advantage of the "I am pregnant" excuse since I am well into my third trimester and won't have the excuse much longer. We have everything ready for our baby girl now I can't wait to see her pretty little face.

Elves!

It has been so hard to remember to do the elves at night. I am so much more forgetful... and tired than I was all the years before, but we have been managing well. The elves have put up a tree in the boys room, made ginger bread men and other fun things. On the changing table in the babys diapers. Puppet show for all their friends Making breakfast Playing guess who... They have ripped up Kiadens homework and broke Ethans favortie dvd, The Polar express.  Its so much fun messing with them. This weekend we are going to use paper, that long roll of paper you put on the floor when you paint, and baracade them in their room so they will have to rip it to come out.  I can't wait! We have everything for the baby now, just the dreaded painting left to do.  I can't wait to have it all done.  I will post pics of it all then, along with the headboard we made.

Beautiful Baby Shower

This past weekend was our baby shower!!  We decided to do it a bit early because I am one of those over-organized, over-prepared types.  It was hosted by my best friend Kindle and my sister Bianca. I told Kindle I wanted a slight winter wonderland pink theme since it is so close to Christmas and this is what I walked in to! It was absolutely beautiful, and we were joined by all our best family and friends, we appreciate everyone that made this such a special day for us.  This game was to guess how big I was and believe it or not the winner was Ethan!! He definitely knows his Mummy!  The chocolate diaper game. (It was Johns first shower, he must've thought we were all crazy).  Getting ready for presents!! (The boys got to open them all).  Kindle surprised the boys with a gift each. It was a shirt with their picture saying "I'm the biggest Brother" and "I'm the big Brother" for the hospital. Most thoughtful thing ever!!! I wish I could relive

Family, Shopping and DIY Time

Today was my first serious Black Friday shopping day, it was way more fun than I thought it could be! And saving hundreds of dollars, being back home by noon in time for Thanksgiving left overs for lunch and a nap... amazing! I have just about all my shopping completed (major yay) and all the decorations up, tree and all. We had a relaxing Thanksgiving with family, I think my family is one of the few that never has any drama when we get together, pure chill vibes. This week I have been getting so many packages at the door for the baby, it gets more and more exciting everyday. =) I am (as usual) working on DIY?craft projects, I am kinda nervous about my newest. I am making a headboard. Yeh, crazy, I know. But Joanns had a super sale today, I have been waiting for black Friday to get my almost 80% off on the materials I need.  The women in the store are so sweet and seasoned at this stuff and gave me some advice. As soon as my handy man (John) is not too busy working I

Reminiscing

Going through old pictures recently and donating all the kids clothes has taken me on a trip down memory lane recently. Last year I made John a calendar and this is from the November page, I can't believe I looked like this last Thanksgiving! This Thanksgiving I will be closer to these photos of me when I was pregnant with Kaiden and Ethan. The human body amazes me at the things it can do! Going through the boys baby clothes was so hard. I almost didn't want to part with them, but I knew it was time and since we are having a girl and I only want 3 kids (I think), it was time. I am looking forward so much to welcoming a new baby into our family. Here's when Kaiden and Ethan were new. I still see them both as little babies.  I love them so much! I tell John all the time that he won't have to do anything. I do all the night time feedings and changes, I think he likes the idea of that! lol! I love being a mother and doing everything I can for my babies. S

Cooking, Eating, and it Shows!

As promised I have new belly pics! =) Over the weekend we got our Christmas photos done (yay!). John and the boys are always so great to cooperate with me so well. As always I spend my time cooking, and then of course eating, and as you can se from the pics it shows! lol Here's some of last weeks dishes:         Jamaican Chicken Soup                                                                                       Mushroom and Burgundy Wine Fondue Roast Pork with Home-made Macaroni, Gravy Green beans (UNcanned) Avocado Slices Chicken Parmesan, Home-Made Marinara, Whole Wheat Pasta                                        Tilapia Ready for the Grill!     Curry Shrimp Over White Rice  Surprised them with Home-made Sugar Cookies! Can you tell which is for John and Which for the boys? I LOVE cooking for my family, I know how much they enjoy getting a healthy, tasty home-cooked meal daily. They deserve it after a day of school and work, it's the least I can do.

November Already?

I cannot believe it is November already!! Christmas really stresses me out, it is so important to me that I get thoughtful gifts for the ones I love. I have bought my first gift already, so that feels good, and I have a brief list of ideas already, so that feels good as well. I need a shopping partner, everyone else works. =( The boys had a great Halloween, there is so much candy in the house, I am pretty good at staying away from it. (Pat on back). You can barely see my baby bump, at some point I will take a proper picture where it actually shows a little more. Maybe you can see it more in this picture... It's definitely smaller than expected, but the doctor says she is the exact size she should be.   Nothing new and exciting to report really, I just wanted to get the boys Halloween pics up for those of you that have been asking for them. And the tummy pics for those of you who have been asking for those. =)

Evidence of Baby Benham

Okay, so am am completely aware that I have been holding back pictures of our baby girl. After a crazy exhausting past few days (okay so it's not that crazy, but I don't have the energy to keep up with anything extra in life at the moment), I am FINALLY taking the time to scan in the pictures!! I figured by now you are all probably thinking that she doesn't exist (especially since I am so far along and hardly look pregnant) so here you are, evidence of her existence. =) All the pictures of her to date, our little girl! 2 months  3 Months  5 months My favorite picture is the middle right arm one, technology is amazing!  Our Precious Baby Girl! So while I was scanning I figured I  might as well add a scan of the expecting couple.

Ours

My FAVORITE lines in this song are: "Seems like there's always someone who disapproves They'll judge it like they know about me and you And the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do" and: "People throw rocks at things that shine." Couldn't be more true, I LOVE Taylor Swift.  I don't know how she made it in the "country" category, I hate country music, she's in a genre of her own. "Ours" Elevator buttons and morning air Strangers' silence makes me want to take the stairs If you were here we'd laugh about their vacant stares But right now my time is theirs Seems like there's always someone who disapproves They'll judge it like they know about me and you And the verdict comes from those with nothing else to do The jury's out, my choice is you So don't you worry your pretty little mind People throw rocks at things that shine And life makes love look hard The stakes a

Eating, Sleeping and Baby Planning

I cannot believe tomorrow is Friday already! This week has flown by so quickly. I forgot what has happened since my last blog until I uploaded the pics from my camera. John and I have been living together for a year this month, talk about time flying! On one hand the time has gone by quickly, on the other hand it doesn't seem as if life was any other way before, it just works. I've learnt that people might tell you that this kind of relationship doesn't exist, but it does, we are the proof. It is not that we never disagree, but we disagree so well! I always knew life could be like this. He has learnt that there is more than 4 seasonings, he is still in shock over my spice cabinet, he swears its 300 spices, but its probably 100 items in there. He has also learnt to identify what they all look like fresh in the grocery store, I love fresh herbs. Other than that it has been all about the baby shower and working on completing the registry. Totally caught him in a mo
