5 Years Of Adventure

The past weekend John and I celebrated 5 years together.

I can never have to many excuses to have a date night, that's for sure!
Not only that, but it was on a Friday that we first started dating, and this year it fell on a Friday as well.

The Saturday after I was invited to an annual BBQ, and John came with me.  So of course this year we showed up back to the same BBQ! Every time we go back we remember the very moment I was walking up to John 5 years ago and we were both looking at each other thinking, "Wow! This is someone I'd be proud to be with, I can't believe we are here together!"

Everyone was so surprised and excited to see us because they all know that is where we had our first date and here we are 5 years later married with a baby, ok fine, toddler.

The kids had so much fun, as always, and being in the same place with a completely different set of circumstances really puts in perspective how much finding each other has changed our lives.

Whenever I look at our relationship I always think what an excellent team John and I are.  I actually don't think I know many couples that work as well as a team as we do.  We can literally pick up and move to the other side of the world in a matter of 2 weeks after making the decision we want to, with 3 kids in tow!  And it all happens so seamlessly.

We always always ALWAYS agree on big decisions and make decisions quickly and accomplish goals swiftly.  I love that, for way too many years we were stagnant, finding someone that moves at the same pace as I do with the same urgency is extremely refreshing.

5 years and Jamaica, Bahamas, Greece, Germany, Denmark,Dubai, Oman, and many states and cities in America later I can easily say we have jam packed these 5 years with lots of fun, travel and adventure.

We already have so many different, bigger more amazing adventures planned for the next year and I am more excited than I have ever been knowing my biggest dreams are so close I could almost reach out and touch them.

So to John,  thank you for being the perfect partner for me during this amazing journey, here's to our never ending happily ever after.

And the Fun Begins

On Sunday, March 11th, we welcomed our newest family member.  Amalia Rachael Emily Benham. It all began Saturday morning.  I had signs of labor but we had the Pinewood Derby so I hoped she would wait.  And of course, she did. Contractions started coming in very slowly and Mummy and Binx came over.  We hung out, and hung out, and hung out and the contractions weren't getting stronger but slowly moving closer together.  We all finally took naps then we started hanging out again.  Finally at 12am we decided to go to the hospital. 3 cm dilated and I was admitted. Kindle, my bff of course came to the hospital as well.  All our biggest supporters were there. Waiting for Baby  Getting some well needed rest. Last moments before birth  My contractions never got  intense before the epidural kicked in, thank goodness.  Somehow my left side didn't kick in so I could feel it all on that side, but because I have back labor and I co...

Beautiful Baby Shower

This past weekend was our baby shower!!  We decided to do it a bit early because I am one of those over-organized, over-prepared types.  It was hosted by my best friend Kindle and my sister Bianca. I told Kindle I wanted a slight winter wonderland pink theme since it is so close to Christmas and this is what I walked in to! It was absolutely beautiful, and we were joined by all our best family and friends, we appreciate everyone that made this such a special day for us.  This game was to guess how big I was and believe it or not the winner was Ethan!! He definitely knows his Mummy!  The chocolate diaper game. (It was Johns first shower, he must've thought we were all crazy).  Getting ready for presents!! (The boys got to open them all).  Kindle surprised the boys with a gift each. It was a shirt with their picture saying "I'm the biggest Brother" and "I'm the big Brother" for the hospital. Most thoughtful thing ever!!! I wish I could relive ...
