Awards Evening

I always swore I would never, ever... EVER go on a stage.
Until...
Last year a friend of mine asked me to do a speech at her wedding, to my surprise I wasn't nervous and I was very good at it.
When John asked me if I would like to be a greeter and help with the awards ceremony it was an easy "yes".
I got to wear a pretty dress and be a part of the event and work even more closely with John.

And the best part was we won our first award together!

The guest speaker was Rudy, from that movie "Rudy".  He was so good and I'm such a softy I had to try and not cry a few times so that I wouldn't mess up my make up.

Such a wonderful evening acknowledging others success.

No Rest For The Weary

Yesterday was sweet and sad, and maybe a bit boring. Amalia woke up with a fever and insisted on sleeping right on top of me on and off all day. Even though she was sick, and I did feel a bit cruel and selfish, I pulled out my camera and got to clicking. I simply won't give her a break! But it was worth it.   Look how sweet and peaceful she looked only an hour before she threw up on me. She is the prettiest little girl and oh so sweet.   I love photographing her. She still has a bit of a temperature today so it seems I am back on "pamper the baby even more than normal" duty. My job is to lay on the couch and be her bed, her comfort, and anything else she may need. And today I will give her a break from her modeling duties. I have the best job in the world. I love my kids.

Long Awaited

Ethan has had the typical "little brother" problems. A huge one being that he has been going to all Kaidens scouting activities for 2 years and couldn't participate. Being the observer of your bigger brother having fun... not so much fun. Then we had the move to Dubai, so what should've been his first year, wasn't. He was so excited and was all smiles at his very first scouting event where he could participate! I can't get over how cute and official he looked in his uniform. He took every belt loop he earned extremely seriously. It's also weird to see Kaiden in his webelo uniform, I always saw it as for the "bigger boys". I guess my little Kaiden is one of the big boys now.
