Love Lives Here

I finally finished watching the very last Oprah show, she is my role model.  She said something that I live my life by, "You are responsible for YOUR life."  There are way too many people that blame everyone else for their problems, they therefore get bitter and expect others to fix their problems.  It is so much easier to blame others, but it is weak and generates no growth.  I have built a lot of strength from this knowing, knowing that I am responsible for my life and the creator of my destiny.  I spend every moment with my boys teaching the same thing because I don't want them wasting time pointing fingers, but rather take a look at themselves and see how they can change their own lives.

With that said, turns out I have created a lot of love around me, it is what I have been consciously choosing to allow into my life.  Now that everything has calmed down since all the birthdays and all the other things I was dealing with I am able to focus on the love and comfort I have everyday.  The neighbors kids are out of town and it has been so peaceful in my home and I have been able to spend a lot of quiet time with the boys and John.  Everyday I get to cook a fabulous dinner (they will accept no less *spoilt*) while listening to Josh Groban or Taylor Swift with all the candles lit.  I listen to the boys play and giggle together in the living room next to me and it keeps a smile on my face.  John works until dinner, we eat together and talk.  He does the dishes while I enjoy a hot bath, from the tub I hear him and the boys playing and laughing.

We end our evenings watching a movie in bed together (my favorite is How to Train Your Dragon).  This is what life is to me. Live, Laugh, Love.  Anyone can have a house, I am grateful to have a home.
Love lives here.

And the Fun Begins

On Sunday, March 11th, we welcomed our newest family member.  Amalia Rachael Emily Benham. It all began Saturday morning.  I had signs of labor but we had the Pinewood Derby so I hoped she would wait.  And of course, she did. Contractions started coming in very slowly and Mummy and Binx came over.  We hung out, and hung out, and hung out and the contractions weren't getting stronger but slowly moving closer together.  We all finally took naps then we started hanging out again.  Finally at 12am we decided to go to the hospital. 3 cm dilated and I was admitted. Kindle, my bff of course came to the hospital as well.  All our biggest supporters were there. Waiting for Baby  Getting some well needed rest. Last moments before birth  My contractions never got  intense before the epidural kicked in, thank goodness.  Somehow my left side didn't kick in so I could feel it all on that side, but because I have back labor and I co...

Beautiful Baby Shower

This past weekend was our baby shower!!  We decided to do it a bit early because I am one of those over-organized, over-prepared types.  It was hosted by my best friend Kindle and my sister Bianca. I told Kindle I wanted a slight winter wonderland pink theme since it is so close to Christmas and this is what I walked in to! It was absolutely beautiful, and we were joined by all our best family and friends, we appreciate everyone that made this such a special day for us.  This game was to guess how big I was and believe it or not the winner was Ethan!! He definitely knows his Mummy!  The chocolate diaper game. (It was Johns first shower, he must've thought we were all crazy).  Getting ready for presents!! (The boys got to open them all).  Kindle surprised the boys with a gift each. It was a shirt with their picture saying "I'm the biggest Brother" and "I'm the big Brother" for the hospital. Most thoughtful thing ever!!! I wish I could relive ...
