10 Years Since She's Been Gone

10 years ago today I lost my sister, my best friend. Just as I started dwelling on it and getting really sad my little sister started sending me these pics. You see, Rachael kept a box of letters, cards and photos and Binky has that box. It's so sweet that Rachael kept a box of family photos from her childhood. Even though I have forgotten her voice I will never forget these wonderful memories! My heart still breaks over our loss but I just have to remind myself that at least I had her as my big sister for 19 years. Someone to lead the way, someone I could turn to, someone I could stay up with talking and laughing till all hours of the morning.  Man I miss those days!! Miss you Rachael and we love you!

A Day For Me!

I had such a great Mothers Day. I wasn't allowed to get out of bed while the boys cooked me pancakes. They had the cutest cards and Mothers Day coupons (which I'm saving for when school is out) and a great gift. John is so good at teaching them to appreciate me and take care of me. I'm not sure Amalia got the memo though! She is teething and has been in a lot of pain recently, but lucky for me she saved her perfect behaviour for dinner. I love Brazillian churascarias so thats of course where John made reservations. The best part was having a private room so Amalia could run around when she got tired of sitting. Honestly, I am so grateful to have such amazing children.  They really are some of the sweetest, brightest most  loving children that we have ever met. Thank you John for helping me mold them into such lovely human beings! And thank you for making my day so special. Love you all. P.S. Please take a moment to notice that mini-me and I ha...

Mother's Day Family BBQ

My cousin Robert invited us over Saturday for a Mother's Day BBQ. I still cannot get over how big my "baby" cousins have gotten! They are still 2 in my mind! Cousin Michelle held Amalia most of the time and I got to eat with a fork... and a knife! Happy Mothers Day to me! lol. I have told John for YEARS that he and Robert would get on really well, and they really are exactly as expected.  It's so special when your family welcomes the one you  love with open arms, they are the most loving family, I'm a lucky girl. It's so fun living near family!  And it's not just because Robert makes the best BBQ ever!! =)

He's Amazing

Yesterday I was a little sad when Ethan came home and told me that the kids at school don't believe in "the force" and that they say mean things and he said he thought they didn't like him anymore because he won't agree with them. You see, we have been using "the force" with him to keep him from complaining, to show that if he is happy and positive "the force" will give him more reasons to be happy and positive etc. The force has also made him become smarter in school! So I am proud of him for standing his ground, but my heart broke for people making him feel different for believing in it. So today, as we do from time to time, John and I went to have lunch with him at school.  We were talking to him and John said, "So which one of these boys don't believe in the force?" I saw where this was going! We explained to the boys that the reason they cannot use the force is because they are not being taught, they needed to be tau...

Toddler Fashion: Reusing Tights

I bought Amalia quite a few of these cute baby girl tights. I loved them so much that even when she was growing out of them I tried squeezing them on. Then a light bulb went off! I love baby leg warmers and it is a great way to reuse too small baby tights.

Toddler Spring Fashion: Pink and Orange Jumpsuit

As you all can see, I have a baby doll that I love to dress. My favorite thing so far for simple spring days, such as staying at home, going to the park, play dates, even checking your engine (seen below), are cute little jumpers. They are much easier than putting on tights or shorts because they are sort of like a onesie, but more big girl and cute and still easy to change diapers. I paired this cute little shorts jumper with these adorable jean sandals. I love jean, but not on babies.  This was the perfect way to keep it fun while adding some jean to the outfit. I also like how the buttons are gems, a very subtle way to add a little bling to a casual outfit. I hope you notice how my model is "working it".
