Feels Like Home To Me

We finally got our shipment in a few days ago.
You would think that since we got rid of most our furniture before we left, to start fresh here, that it would be fairly easy.
No. Not close.  Who owns this much stuff?
Apparently us.
I had no idea how much clothes we had.
And while unpacking etc. little Amalia, omg.
She's cute, she's sweet, I love her, but she is crawling!
I thought she would perfect sitting before crawling.
That wasn't in her plans though.  I put her here, I find her there. I can't leave her anywhere.
And then she wants me to hold her to help her walk... all the time.
As though I want her learning to walk anytime soon, no thank you!

The good news is she's growing so sweetly.
She is a very happy little baby.
And I'm a happy Mummy.
And her crib is here! In her own little quiet room.
And our bed is here!
My body is slowly easing the aches and pains caused by so many nights on an air mattress.
And because Amalia has been crawling every time I put her to sleep I can't leave her because I am afraid she will fall.
So the crib has opened up so much more time in my day.

And what do I do with that time?
COOK!
I got all my spices back!
Definitely back on my A game in the kitchen now.
Feel so at home in there.
So excuse me while I go and get in my "comfort zone" known as the kitchen and whip up something for the family!

Mr. and Mrs. John Benham!!!

This is the moment we have both been waiting for for years! It was perfection. Nothing short of magical. We had quite a bit of time after getting ready, there were so many emotions, so happy I laughed, so happy I cried. I love these photos and am so happy that every moment was captured.  Can't wait to see the professional ones!                                 Waiting for the go ahead                                         It's time!!                              Everyone ready t...

And the Fun Begins

On Sunday, March 11th, we welcomed our newest family member.  Amalia Rachael Emily Benham. It all began Saturday morning.  I had signs of labor but we had the Pinewood Derby so I hoped she would wait.  And of course, she did. Contractions started coming in very slowly and Mummy and Binx came over.  We hung out, and hung out, and hung out and the contractions weren't getting stronger but slowly moving closer together.  We all finally took naps then we started hanging out again.  Finally at 12am we decided to go to the hospital. 3 cm dilated and I was admitted. Kindle, my bff of course came to the hospital as well.  All our biggest supporters were there. Waiting for Baby  Getting some well needed rest. Last moments before birth  My contractions never got  intense before the epidural kicked in, thank goodness.  Somehow my left side didn't kick in so I could feel it all on that side, but because I have back labor and I co...

Beautiful Baby Shower

This past weekend was our baby shower!!  We decided to do it a bit early because I am one of those over-organized, over-prepared types.  It was hosted by my best friend Kindle and my sister Bianca. I told Kindle I wanted a slight winter wonderland pink theme since it is so close to Christmas and this is what I walked in to! It was absolutely beautiful, and we were joined by all our best family and friends, we appreciate everyone that made this such a special day for us.  This game was to guess how big I was and believe it or not the winner was Ethan!! He definitely knows his Mummy!  The chocolate diaper game. (It was Johns first shower, he must've thought we were all crazy).  Getting ready for presents!! (The boys got to open them all).  Kindle surprised the boys with a gift each. It was a shirt with their picture saying "I'm the biggest Brother" and "I'm the big Brother" for the hospital. Most thoughtful thing ever!!! I wish I could relive ...
