Fun With Frances

I met someone, yes, a new friend, Frances, I am not as anti social as I sometimes think I am. =)
My baby doctor in Atlanta was also her doctor!
When I told her (the doctor) I was moving to Dubai she told me she had a patient in labor across the street in labor right now that is planning a move to Dubai.
After I moved here I got her information and we had a lunch date.
Oh, and did I mention her daughter was born 10 days before Amalia?

Lunch went well then this weekend we got the entire families together for lunch at a resort.

Well let me tell you, John and her husband Michael had an immediate bromance from the "opening of the conversation". (Inside joke) See that? ...inside joke...
That means we are friends, and I am funny, but none of you get it, but I amuse myself anyway.
She actually lives an hour and a half away in Abu Dhabi but enjoys visiting Dubai so she had another visit with me yesterday.

Where we went for  lunch had great entertainment for the children, and a playroom for them which was nice for us.
And then about 12 swords came home and the party continued.
Amalia watched the boys and thought, hey, I'm a big girl now, I can do this!
Yesterday she actually grabbed a sword and started sword fighting with Ethan.
She is such a big girl now.

And just so you know, my daughter is sleeping which means I have a moment for a rambling blog so be prepared.

Please excuse my mess in the kitchen, no dish rack for drying, no dishwasher as you can see from that big empty space.
People like me, we have our priorities straight.
Nice rug, nice curtains... hand washing every night.
Don't judge, it's what makes me happy!

Here is Amalias new friend (only friend) Collie.  I call her Amalia 2 because they look similar and sound exactly alike.

As I mentioned above, Amalia is asleep, and has been for a long time.
Want to know why?
Because she kept me and John up quite a bit last night.  Grrrrr.
Our shipment has arrived but is currently going through customs.
Even though we got rid of most our furniture we kept the beds.
Know what that means? We were able to buy a couch etc. but are waiting for our beds.
Air Mattresses.
And Amalia, yes, no crib, so where is she, with us.
I think she is just as over the air mattress as I am and wants her crib back.
So I made her a cuddly little spot on the couch and she has been fast asleep.
Can't wait for our stuff to get in our new home!!

Mr. and Mrs. John Benham!!!

This is the moment we have both been waiting for for years! It was perfection. Nothing short of magical. We had quite a bit of time after getting ready, there were so many emotions, so happy I laughed, so happy I cried. I love these photos and am so happy that every moment was captured.  Can't wait to see the professional ones!                                 Waiting for the go ahead                                         It's time!!                              Everyone ready t...

No Rest For The Weary

Yesterday was sweet and sad, and maybe a bit boring. Amalia woke up with a fever and insisted on sleeping right on top of me on and off all day. Even though she was sick, and I did feel a bit cruel and selfish, I pulled out my camera and got to clicking. I simply won't give her a break! But it was worth it.   Look how sweet and peaceful she looked only an hour before she threw up on me. She is the prettiest little girl and oh so sweet.   I love photographing her. She still has a bit of a temperature today so it seems I am back on "pamper the baby even more than normal" duty. My job is to lay on the couch and be her bed, her comfort, and anything else she may need. And today I will give her a break from her modeling duties. I have the best job in the world. I love my kids.

Long Awaited

Ethan has had the typical "little brother" problems. A huge one being that he has been going to all Kaidens scouting activities for 2 years and couldn't participate. Being the observer of your bigger brother having fun... not so much fun. Then we had the move to Dubai, so what should've been his first year, wasn't. He was so excited and was all smiles at his very first scouting event where he could participate! I can't get over how cute and official he looked in his uniform. He took every belt loop he earned extremely seriously. It's also weird to see Kaiden in his webelo uniform, I always saw it as for the "bigger boys". I guess my little Kaiden is one of the big boys now.
